Widgets

See your steps, water, and fast at a glance on the Home Screen, and log a drink without opening the app.

The widgets

  • Steps — today's steps against your goal, with a 7-day trend in the larger sizes.
  • Hydration — today's water against your goal, with a 7-day trend.
  • Hydration — Quick Add — the same, plus tappable drink buttons that log straight from the widget.
  • Fasting — your active fast's elapsed time, current stage, and target, plus a weekly summary in the larger sizes. With no fast running, it shows Not Fasting.

Every widget comes in small, medium, and large. Larger sizes add the trend charts and weekly totals.

Adding a widget

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the icons jiggle.
  2. Tap + (top left) and search for Pathium.
  3. Pick a widget and a size, tap Add Widget, then Done.

Quick Add

Tap a drink button on the Hydration — Quick Add widget to log it instantly. The widget updates right away, and Pathium records the drink in your history the next time it opens. The buttons are the presets you set on the Hydration screen (the pencil next to each Quick Add preset).

Quick Add always logs to today's date, even if you tap it just after midnight.

How fresh are they?

  • Pathium updates its widgets whenever you log something or open the app.
  • Steps also refresh in the background when Apple Health reports new steps. iPhone step counts reach apps only about once an hour at most, and iOS decides when that happens, so the widget can lag behind — it is not a live counter.
  • Around midnight each widget is set to start a new day on its own, even if you have not opened Pathium; iOS controls the exact moment it redraws. Early in the morning a steps total may read 0 until Apple Health delivers your first steps.
  • iOS decides exactly when a widget redraws, and it limits how often. Opening Pathium always brings everything fully up to date.

If a widget looks wrong

  • Open Pathium once so it can refresh the widget.
  • Make sure Apple Health access for steps is on (Settings → Permissions).
  • Remove the widget and add it again if it still shows a placeholder.
