Trail Maps

Read a trail map: named trails with lengths, difficulty colors, and pins for parking, trailheads, restrooms, and viewpoints.

Opening one

From Explore, tap the map button on a trail result. The map opens with the trail's name along the top, a bookmark to save it, and Done to close.

A trail map. Trails carry their name and length, colored by difficulty.

What you see

  • Trails are drawn on the map with a label showing the trail's name and length.
  • Colors show difficulty, in the legend at the bottom: Easy (green), Moderate (blue), Difficult (orange), Very Difficult (red), and Ungraded (gray) when a trail has no rating.
  • Tap a trail to see its difficulty and length.
  • Zoom in to see pins for parking (a P), trailheads (a signpost), restrooms, viewpoints (binoculars), and peaks (a mountain). Parking pins show how many spaces it has when that is known.
