Breathing Sessions

Guided breathing patterns — box breathing, 4-7-8, the physiological sigh, Wim Hof, or your own custom cycle.

Your patterns

Recover → Breathe lists your saved patterns. Each row shows the cycle (In-Hold-Out-Hold), the session length, and the number of rounds.

  • The i button opens a short explanation of the technique.
  • The play button starts the session.
  • Tap a row to edit it.
  • Swipe a row right to favorite it, or left to delete it. If a plan uses the pattern you are warned first.
  • Search and the filter button narrow and sort the list.
Recover → Breathe. A Plan badge marks a pattern that belongs to one of your plans.

Adding from the library

  1. Tap + and choose Browse Library.
  2. Pick a chip — All, Relax, Focus, Energy, or Health — or search by name.
  3. Tap a pattern to add it. Patterns you already have show Added.
  4. Tap Done.

The library includes Box Breathing, 4-7-8 Relaxation, the Physiological Sigh, HRV Coherence, 2:1 Calming, Triangle Breathing, and Power Breathing (Wim Hof). Tap + and choose Add Pattern instead to build your own from scratch.

Editing a pattern

Tap a row to open the editor. The header has the star, share, and Done, then the glyph and name, a Start Session button, and a Why this technique? link.

  • The colored bar under the header shows one cycle: In, Hold, Out, Hold.
  • BREATHING CYCLE — Breathe In, Hold 1, Breathe Out, and Hold 2, each adjustable in 1-second steps with − and +. Set a hold to 0 to skip it.
  • GOAL — Rounds, plus the resulting Cycle Time and Session Time.
  • AUDIO — separate volume sliders for breathing cues, music, and voice, a background track (Off, Chill, Motivate, Ethnic), a voice gender picker, and a round-chime toggle.

Doing a session

  1. Tap Start Session (or the play button on a row). A short screen asks you to get in a comfortable position, sitting or lying down, and close your eyes when you are ready. Tap How does this work? for a short explanation.
  2. Tap I'm Ready.
  3. Follow the flower: it grows as you Breathe In, holds still, shrinks as you Breathe Out, and a large number counts the seconds in each phase.
  4. When the last round ends, a completion screen appears and the session is saved to History.
  • X (top left) asks End Session? — confirm to end it early.
  • The pause button (top right) pauses the clock; tap it again to resume.
  • The dots under the flower fill in as each round finishes.

Wim Hof breathing

Power Breathing (Wim Hof) runs through its own guided flow instead of the standard cycle, because the rounds work differently: a set of power breaths, a breath hold on empty, and a recovery breath, repeated for the number of rounds you choose.

In workouts and plans

A breathing pattern can be a step in a workout (Add Breathing in the workout editor) or an item on a plan day. In a workout it runs full-screen inside the workout, then moves on to the next step.
