Doing a Workout
What happens after you tap Start Workout: the Ready screen, each exercise, rest, pausing, and finishing.
Starting
- Open a workout (Train → Workouts) and tap Start Workout, or tap the play button on its row.
- The Ready to train? screen lists WHAT'S AHEAD — every exercise and rest in order. Get set up.
- Tap I'm Ready to begin.
An exercise step
- Top bar — X ends the workout, the clock is your total elapsed time, and the speaker button controls audio. Your heart rate appears on the right when a Watch or sensor is connected.
- The photo or video shows the movement; tap the i button for Directions, Key Cues, and Muscles Worked.
- Set, Reps, Weight, and Rest — this set's targets. Timed exercises show a countdown instead of Reps.
- Next Up — a preview of what comes after this step.
- Bottom controls — Previous, Pause, and Next.
When the set is done, tap Next. If the exercise is set to record what you actually did, you'll log the reps and weight for that set first.
Rest
Between sets a ring counts down your rest. It moves on by itself when it reaches zero, or tap Next to start the next set early. Pause freezes the clock; Previous goes back a step.
Left and right sides
Exercises done one side at a time appear as separate items named with Left or Right and a short switch between them. Three sets of a lunge become six steps that alternate Left, Right, Left, Right — you never have to count sides yourself.
Ending and finishing
- Tap X to leave early. You can choose Save Partial to keep what you did, or Discard.
- Finishing the last step shows a summary with total time and total weight moved, and the workout is saved to History (and to Apple Health, if you allowed it).
- If the app is closed mid-workout, Recover Last Activity? offers Save It, Discard, or Cancel the next time you open Pathium.
