Workouts

A saved sequence of exercises, rests, and other items you can start anytime — the building block that Plans schedule across weeks.

Browsing your workouts

Train → Workouts lists every workout you've saved, with the same search/sort/filter tools as Exercises.

  1. Tap + → Add Workout for a blank workout, or Browse Library to start from a template.
  2. Tap any workout in the list to open it.

The workout editor

Like Exercises, a workout opens as a popup sheet: an accent-colored header with star/share/Done, glyph and name, then everything else in a scrollable list below.

  • Start Workout — sits right under the name, begins the workout immediately.
  • Apple Health — pick which workout type this logs as in the Health app when you finish it.
  • Workout Plan — the ordered list of everything in the workout.

Adding to a workout

Tap the + button at the bottom of the workout editor to open Add to Workout, with one entry per item type:

  • Add Workout — insert every exercise from another saved workout at once.
  • Add Exercise — pick one exercise from your library.
  • Add Superset / Circuit — pick several exercises and repeat them together as a group.
  • Add Move Activity — a run, ride, walk, swim, or other tracked activity as its own item.
  • Add Move Activity Block — exercises performed while an activity (like a run) is in progress.
  • Add Rest — a manual, timed, or breathing-guided rest between items.
  • Add Breathing — a standalone breathing session (box, 4-7-8, or custom).
  • Add Thermal — a sauna, cold plunge, or contrast-therapy block.
  • Add Timer — a stopwatch, countdown, or interval timer as a workout item.

Editing an item in the plan

Tap any row in the Workout Plan list to open its settings — the same accent-header popup style, scoped to just that item.

  • The header shows the item's glyph and name (tap either to change it) with Done in the top-right — no star or share here, since these settings belong to the workout, not the shared library exercise.
  • Below the header: the item's own sets/reps/timer/weight/rest, overriding the exercise's defaults for this workout only.

Swipe a row left for Delete (and Ungroup, if it's part of a group), or right for Duplicate.

Reordering and running

  • Drag the row's handle to reorder items in the plan.
  • Start Workout launches the workout player, which walks through every item in order with its own timers and rest screens.
  • Once you've tracked a session, Last and Best summaries appear above the Apple Health picker.
